I just bought a Z10 car and want to know what options I have as far as finding out the history of the car. Is there someone you call in gm and run the numbers to tell you exactly how the car was equiped from the factory. The cowl tag has the info but Id like some kind of documentation on the car. thanks for help!

 

that is a tough question, i own a 69 myself and have been searching about info like that. From everything ive heard, as well the people in my car club, gm only kept documentation of cars that were built in canada and not in the U.S So if your car was built and sold in the us you are probably out of luck to get factory info. My car is equipped with the rare gauge special instrumentation package and my car is a small block 307V8 X44 standard camaro. When we purchased it from the orginal owner he said that only 500 standard camaros had this package, but who knows, with no documentation, i would like to hear more about your car and feel your pain of finding whats from the factory or not

 

there are know records of how the Camaros were opt. from the factory, the only thing you can hope for is to find the build sheet for the car, but after all these years is more than likely gone.
If it were a Pontiac then your could get the factory build sheet for it as they kept records
