Default Just purchased 86 z28 tpi

Hello new to the Site and have a few questions but first a bit about the car,
The car was stored for the past 10yrs,has never seen a winter and is the 305 tpi lb9 I believe. I bought the car, changed all the fluids, replaced fuel system (tank, pump and filter). I got the car running and have been driving it to iron out any issues that may develop before I spend any serious money. Now the car is 100% original and for value reasons I'd like to stay on this path but would like to know is there anything I can do to wake the motor up. Car has 140k everything works including the air, only thing that has really paid the price from the storage is the paint and muffler. Any input would be appreciated. I did read that switching to the iroc 350 chip would help but not sure if it can be done and or what would it do?

Welcome aboard third gen. Nice project, be sure and save any parts you take off to put back on later.

Nice to have you aboard.

It's possible to build that 305 up and make some decent power.

But you may see better results with a 350 instead. An L98 from a later car looks identical to an LB9, and with heads and a cam they can make decent power.

Here, have a before and after picture of my car. One is the stock 305, the other is with a 350 with Edelbrock heads and a CompCams camshaft. Can you tell which is which?

I'm making about 260 hp and 390 torque, instead of the stock 190 and 295.
