Default Proportioning Valve

Hey guys!! I'm new to this site. I am currently Restoring a 78 z28. I live in philly, PA.

I need to find a proportional Valve for my car because I am replacing the master cylinder and figured I might as well do this anyway as preventative maintenence. I contacted my local auto zone and they said that the part is Dealer Only. I've been searching online and found one place that has them for 69.99 and the lines for 29.99. (Performanceonline.com) I was wondering if anyone had any websites that I might be able to pick these 2 peices up at a reasonable price since the dealer wants $150 for the valve. Also, Has anyone heard feedback on Performanceonline.com?? I don't like ordereing off of websites that I have never heard of before, or that no one else has ever heard of. If you guys could also give me a good list for 78 Camaro parts online I'd appreciate it because since i am restoring it, I need a lot of different parts and autozone/pepboys only usually have half of the stuff I need.

Thanks guys...

Rob

I also visit a mustang website daily since I have a 98 vert so I will be here pretty often. If anyone has anyquestions feel free to PM me

When I installed rear discs on my 70 the new prop. valve was hard to find. I eventually sourced it through a Chevy dealer parts counter. What got me started was a part number. If you can look at any shop manuals for your car you may find the number. I recommend oem parts whenever possible, especially brakes. The parts store franchises don't have the quality of a factory replacement part. One source: http://www.acdelcopartsdirect.com

Go to one of the aftermarket sites ( Jeg's or Summit ) and get an adjustable porportioning valve. They're not that expensive and They're adjustable.

Prop valves don't really go bad and if you drain and refill the master prior to bleeding, you flush the valve out anyway.
