I've been through 2 throttle cables in under 50 miles on the 75 Camaro. TransDapt and Spectre aren't cutting it. I bought a Lokar for $55 and the mounting bracket for carb for $30, but they are saying I need one of the Lokar Pedals - their cable end will not work with a factory pedal - that's another $130. Although these cables have left the car broken - is there something of quality out there for much less than $215??

Not sure what you're doing wrong to wear out the Spectre cable so quickly. I've had a Spectre on my car for many years and it's still working great. Also put one on my other car two years ago, and it is working great, even with pressure from pulling return springs on two carbs, and a bell crank!

I'm curious what's happening to the cables, are they snapping or what? 2 cables in 50 miles? Even to go through 2 cables within 50k miles is too frequent. Are you sure you're not stressing the cable when you bury your right foot? When you have the throttle set right, at WOT your cable should be tight, but not having travel left to where it wants to try and yank the arm off the carb.
