That sucks haha,i thought my 81 had that compartment so i went to look and now i'm dissapointed haha.It's been a while since i looked at my console but could have swore it had it oh well.

There's a little opening where the underdash is, and its got 2 sunpro gauges. And 2 speakers on the side.

If it has the little opening then it does'nt sound like it's an 81 then,unless the console was switched out for an older one.

Well, this long drawn out process is winding down. the 3rd gen is ready to roll, and im going to get the paperwork on the 2nd gen started tomorrow! woot woot! I sat in it again today, and man, i cant wait!
