need help on suspention upgread 74 are air shocks bad?
i just got my fathers 74 camaro out of storage and the last time it was drove was in 96 i went through the motor and changed all the fluids.....now that it out on the road again i can tell we need to start goin through the suspention. its all stock other then some air springs in the rear....were runnin 15x8s with 295/50s in the rear so i dont think it would be a good thing to do a drop coil/leaf setup....
what should i do first? whats the best bang for the buck as we dont have a hole lot of money to drop on her at this time....baby steps!!!! thanks guys

air shocks are going to give you a horrible ride (kind of like a big truck) and they also handle like crap. they are too stiff and aren't progressive at all so in cornering your car isn't going to lean at all, but at the same time they don't allow the suspension to absorb the imperfections in the road so you are more apt to skip across the top then stay glued to the road
Air shocks are okay if You limit the amount of air in them. Keep it at a stock ride height and They're good. Too much air and They're crap like 1969 SS said. Overall a premium gas shock will be the best.
