Need help and insight into ls swap into 70 camaro

Just google search it. There are so many websites dedicated to it and youtube play list that document start to finish I am not sure how to get that down to a manageable thread.
IMO one thing you need to think about is what is your goal, Are we talking a Junk yard 4.8 swap where you buy motor mounts off of ebay and you use factory GM parts right out of a junk yard Or are we talking about a new GM crate LS3 with a super charger and a new trans behind it with a custom self learning fuel management system. One of those can be done for for under $1000 and the other will likely cost 30K plus. Now the $1000 assume you have the tools and some mechanical knowledge to do the job your self.
I have no problem with either of them, They both can be done well. There is just a big difference between how Chip Foose may do something and how Matt from Sloppy Mechanic would do something. There are many levels in between those examples. You could swap out the 4.8 with a low miles all aluminum 5.3 and a new oil pump, valve springs, a performance cam and some headers. That would save you almost 100 pounds and gain you from a 100-150 HP. But now you cost is closer to 3K

I purchased a gmc 3500 with a 6.0 and 4L80e in it and plan to use them for the swap I'm just hoping to get more of the do and don'ts for the swap/build from people that have done it to a 2nd gen.
