LS swap

LS swap
I found almost complete LS1 swap with T56 out for a 99 Z28. Just missing ECU and fuse box. Seller wants $4100. Is this worth it? What’s going to be best bang for the wallet swap? I’m not stuck on having manual transmission. I would like it to be reliable and making good power 400 hp is good for me nothing crazy. Thanks for the help.

Miles? If you don't mind auto they will be a lot cheaper. Also you could think about a 6.0/4L80e out of a 2500 and up 2 wheel drive pickup.

I’m considering going auto as how cheap it can be. LS gen 4 5.3L with auto transmission complete swap is going for 1200. Which isn’t bad.

I'm pretty impressed with the 5.3's power I must say,it moves that big 4X4 right down the road when I mash the pedal and it's bone stock.
I have an LS1 in my Camaro with LS6 heads from an '04 Z06 Corvette, long tube headers no cats and chambered exhaust making about 400/400 at the wheels so I'm used to LS power. All the more reason that little 5.3 impressed me,it has more ***** than I would have expected.

I bought a '99 silverado 1500 4X4 a few months back with the 5.3 and auto.
