My first project :D (well kind of)

I just signed up today to see if I can get some info about a project that I may hopefully be starting. I have never really done a project so I figure this one would not be too daunting. I'm considering purchasing a '73 Camaro Z28 that mechanically is in good shape, but the exterior needs to be restored. Here is a video of the Camaro: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niuWBn6rcho
I'm just wondering what your guys' opinions are on it and if it would be worth it to get it. Also, I have some questions, such as does it look like it is ready for paint (I know it's hard to tell from the video), how would I go about preparing it for paint? Also, I would like to install a cowl hood on it before the paint. What types and sizes of cowl hoods should I be looking for? Steel? Fiberglass? Welcome. BTW your link wont work, so can't access the hood as it says I'm forbidden to access that link.
Anyway, the car looks like it's ready to get ready for paint. Depends on what's under the primer and I'd always remove all the primer to see if i didn't know. Never want to find out after the paint is applied and it starts lifting.
I bought a OER steel cowl hood and the fit was very good. All the hoods will need something to make them fit perfect before paint, and repros are all lighter in steel than factory. Fiberglass can be really nice, or a hige pain. Don't buy any of the lightweight pin on fiberglass as the fit is almost always poor. They are designed for racing, and not as much detail or time involved in the making of those.
I'd also want the glass out before painting to check the corners of the dash as this is a problem area that oftens rusts out, even in the best environments. Have you looked underneath at the floorboards to ensure there's no rust in the pans or frame?
Around my area that car would easily get $5k barring any rust issues, so it seems like a good price.

Looks like a real good deal, engine sounds good as well. Go around the whole body with a weak magnet and check everywhere to see if it has any bondo. It looks solid, but looks can be deceiving and surprises can come up when the paint comes off.
