Thanks, i just wanted to make sure because i know other places i read they say when switching motors you have to replace pretty much everything. I think that may of been switching from a v6 to a v8 but basically i justdrop the 350 in and everything else will work without any problems?

Exactly right. Even if you want you can swap heads, crank, intake, rods etc. They are exactly the same just the bore is different size. Thats the joys of a chevy. ford evenhas 2different firing orders on the 302 you cant mix an match anything really. Chevy small block to big block isn't much headers, some other ods and ends and your set.

Now i cant decide what i should do. The engine thats in my 79 camaro is the original so its 29 years old but i cant decide if i should put a 350 in it or just build up the 305. Whats your guys opinions on this?

350...dont waste your time with the 305 unless you want an all original car....but these 2nd gens are worth more modified than orignial....in most cases.

What will be the difference in gas mileage between the 305 and the 350?
