Hey all, does anyone know if you can just replace the rubber inside the motor mounts, or if you have to replace the entire mount? I see replacements in catalogs, just dont know how to remove it? I would like to replace mine with the red inserts from Classic Industries if possible. Thanks in advance.

Just drill out the spot welds and pop in the insert. Keep in mind that the red poly will transmit every vibe from the motor to the car!!!
New at pep boys are like $8.00. with the metal part.

Lots of work to just change the rubber for such a small priced part complete. I'm running Moroso all metal mounts and I don't think the solid mount is really that bad personally, but wouldn't do it unless your car has a lot of HP.

 

Ya, i thought about that as well. Just not sure if i want the poly ones, or new rubber ones.

 

So, since i got the poly red insert, should i grease them up very well just like the bushings when i install them?

 

Not necessary with motor mounts as they don't move and squeak.
