Default messy tail on the camaro

I have a dilemma, My 71 camaro's rear end (where the bumper/tail lights are) have spots of carbon/fuel every time I drive her. The exhaust is cut midway under the car immediately after the mufflers. I am thinking the car is running too rich so it ends up on the rear end? any help? thanks,

i actually have the exact same problem, i just always chalked it up to the turn down exhaust at the axel, but if anyone does have some suggestions, short of redoing the entire exhaust, i would also like to hear

Same with mine. I just wash it more often! Mine runs rich, and has short exhausts. If you run the tailpipes clear out the back it will stop the dirty buildup on the tail.

I've got my exhaust dumped at the rear seats. I had the same problem until I put turndowns on it you may try that.
