Default Installing/wiring 70-73 OER park/turn sig lamps

I have looked at front lamp wiring schematics from varioussources...they all show 2 brn wires (park lamp) and 1 either lt blu (left side)or dk blu (right side) turn signal wire to the plug in connector for the lampasm. The new lamps come with a mating conn which looks like it should be plugand play.....but NOT.
The only way to get the new lamp to work correctly is to ground the externalcase of the bulb socket, but there is no provision on the new lamp to do this. Was the original lamp case metal and therefore grounded to the body whenmounted to the valance? The OER parts are all plastic case. Anybody else havethis experience? Got any suggestions on how to durably attach a ground wire tothe lamp socket?

BTW OER had no suggestions.....and claims no reports of any problems with these parts from the field, but yet they do not work as shipped!

How many wires on the new lamp? If the new OER lamp is a plug in, then you may have to remove the plug and either put a plug on each wire, or solder and heat shrink it on. I've never had any luck trying to ground a socket that wasn't metal, so not sure how you'd ground it if it's plastic.
And the original was a metal socket up front, and plastic in the rear.

Hey SRQTerry, I am having the same issue you have described. Did you ever come up with a work around for attaching the ground wire to the bulb? I know it was awhile ago but I’m driving myself crazy trying to figure out, thanks in advance
