Default Installing HID's

I tried installing some HID's and when i turned the lights on, smoke started coming out as if a fire was about to start. Name: downsized_1128011430a.jpg

This is the headlight and aftermarket plug in to manage high output bulbs. Name: 1128011430b.jpg

Size: 57.3 KB this is the ballast.

when the smoke started coming out i didnt have the white piece hooked up. With the stock one there are 2 wires coming out of each port, instead of one wire like the blue, white, and black wires on the aftermarket one. I guess the question is, how do I hook 6 wires(from the stock one) into 3 wires(the aftermarket one). Would that even fix the problem.

Also, there is a black and red wire coming out of the new headlight housing which is hooked up to a small blue bulb. what do i wire those into?

If they didn't come with instructions I'd contact the maker.

Not sure on the main harness, but the 2 wires coming from the small blue bulb, most people wire them to the running lights, but i have also heard of a few people wiring them right to the positive and negative terminals of the headlight, just depends on when you want them to come on.

ok well i figured the smoke thing out. the high resistance heat light connectors are ceramic where as the stock one is plastic. so i did a guessing game and i figured out the driver side headlight set up. the thing is, the passenger is kinda different. the plastic connector that connects into the bulb had 2 wires coming out of each port on the driver side. on the passenger side there is 1 wire coming out of each port. so, the low beams work but the highs do not. The highbeams did work with the stock set up so there is no reason for it not to now. is there a separate fuse for each light?

Cool, I was gonna guess you had the high beam wired to it and inadvertently turned the high beam on. Being that the new one was only rated to 10A in. I think the high beams are 15A. Not sure though.

You figured it out though so show us. I want to do it just to save weight on the nose.
