Installing new horn

Installing new horn
Hi,
First off, thank you guys for all your help thus far. Second, I would like some help with the installation of a horn on the '72.
Okay, I bought the car with no horn. I have no clue how to begin or where to find a replacement. I know it has the actual horn part but no wires running anywhere. I will not be able to see the car until this weekend so I can't produce any pics right now. So my questions:
1. Where can I find a horn?
2. Does it need to be strictly for a Camaro?
3. Do I need anything else?
4. Any tips on what to do and what NOT to do?
5. Is there any way to find a diagram?
As always, thank you and God bless.
Here is the only pic I have from the last time I saw the car.

RE: Installing new horn
just about any horn off a GM car or truck around the same year as your car will fit,as for why it doesent work could be that somebody cut the single wire running from the horn off the spring could be gone out of the sterring wheel or you have a after market steering wheels.

RE: Installing new horn
you say that there are no wires running anywhere but if i'm not wrong the only wire you need is there,
like 73camaross said it could be a cut off wire, at some point, a different steering wheel, but it could also be the horn itslef and you might justwant to replace that, you can take it off then hold it in your hand close to your ear, if it rattels then it is the horn itslef, you might want to start with.

RE: Installing new horn
actually lyou could just use a cable directly to the positive side of the battery and simply touch the contact point where the cable for the horn connect, you don't need to do that for the negative side since there is negative charge running through the car all the time if you hear the horn go off then the horn is good and your problem is somewhere else. if it doesn't just try replacing the horn

RE: Installing new horn
standard parts store 12v horn will work, i've used the ~$15 model on many vehicles, the mounts are similar to your stock, grounds through the frame, just a +12v wire from the horn button to make it honk.
