Ignition lock change help

Default Ignition lock change help

Ok heres my situation im changing my lock cylinder.Now i took the steering wheel and lock plate and then the turn signal switch so im at the part where im supose to find the spring to release the cylinder. Now i realy need help finding where it is i tryed looking it up but got vauge answers and didnt realy help so if someone could help me with this even a diagram would be great casue i need to change this cylinder fast. I have a 1981 camaro.

Ok I got a picture of where I am so if someone can show me what to do next to get that cylinder out.I just need to be pointed in the right spot, u can even jsut copy the picture and edit it with paint or something and post it. I realy need the help.

see that plastic tab with two copper tangs coming off of it.(at the 3 o'clock position) you need to pop that plastic part out(the tangs are connected to it so they come too.

once you have that out, take out the dark colored phillips head screw. that screw holds the cylinder in and you will be able to slide the cylinder out.

Lol thanks man i got it and its all good now I love this forum! Im glade theres a good place to go to when I need help or advise
