Oh and since it was so low when you're done I'd look it over real well underneath the car to see if she's leaking anyplace like at the rear seal on the back of the trans.
If she's dripping a little somewhere that could explain why it was low on fluid, sometime they'll weep just enough to make things a little messy under the car but not enough to see a visible drip or puddle under the car and over time the fluid level will get low, that's why they have dipsticks to check it regularly after all.
Will continue tomorow and make a try to drive it to the winter storage. I got some more ATF oil now.
Cooling fluid level is good, the breaks seems to be working well atleast on the short drive made today.
Well good deal, looks like you have a pretty nice old Camaro there.
As I said before put some fuel stabilizer in the gas tank before you drive it to your winter storage so it gets run through the whole system, that will protect your carb and fuel pump etc.
Gas starts going bad these days in about a month so it's good insurance against problems later on.
It would be a good idea to also drain the radiator and refill it using a 50/50 mix antifreeze solution ,not sure where you live but this is doubly important in cold country.
Antifreeze over time looses it's value and it would be a shame to have a cracked block from freezing the engine coolant, again do this before driving it to winter storage and turn the heater on so it gets through the whole system before you park it again.
Made the drive to my house today, about 35 kilometers from my fathers garage. It was an easy pleasent drive through the countryside, on some backroads. Did not go faster than 80kmh.
Ewerything worked perfectly.
I live in northern Sweden so i will drain the cooling system and set a new mix in before parking it over winter. Ad some of that fuel thing you mentioned also.
Would love to have it in my own garage over the winter but we alredy have two cars of our own, and a snowmobile..!
Thank you for all advise, it has helped me wery much!
