to drop the frame, support the car on jackstands, hold a 2x4 against the bottom of the frame rails side to side pretty close to the trans crossmember, put another one under it running length wise in the middle from the motor cross brace to the first 2x4, you can balance the whole frame on a jack by the middle of the 2x4 to lower it to the ground.
