Default I need HELP! Transmission

1980 camaro 355 turbo 350

Stopped at a stop sign yesterday and went to move and couldnt go anywhere. I never heard any clangs, checked the transfluid. I also changed out the modulator valve still not working. Im thinking maybe the torque converter, any ideas?

Possibly converter, possibly clutches. Might be an obstruction in the valve body. Tough to say, but it will most likely need to be opened up. You might try changing the fluid and filter, then you can check in the pan to see what's floating in there. If it's got lots of metallic color it's probably worn out clutches.

1^+. Definitely change your fluid and filter first. I had the same thing happen to me in my 77 blazer several years ago. I changed my fluid and filter (after a transmission shop told me I needed a rebuild), and everything was fine. Try that first!
