Default camaro z28

im removing the motor and trans from a 80 camaro. how many bolts consist of removing both motor and trans. also do i have to keep all of the old smog stuff. i am completely rebuilding the motor without all that stuff. thanks for the help.

Welcome to the forum!
You need to pull one motor mount bolt from each side of the engine, then two bolts from the trans, and 4 bolts from the trans crossmember. Then whatever bolts from the exhaust depending on whther you leave manifolds on the engine, or split them at the exhaust pipe.
Then there's all the electrical, starter wires, pull battery leads, and misc hoses, etc.
Just keep pulling stuff 'til she comes out!

As for keeping the smog stuff, you just may be able to sell it to someone doing a restoration.

were are the two bolts on the trans located. i got the 4 bolts from the cross member. i dont know the other two.

The four bolts on the crossmember bolt the crossmember to the frame. The two bolts from the trans bolt the trans to the crossmember, it may be covered in muck.
