My defroster will not defog my front windshield. I have no idea why. Its blows very hot air and it also blows cold air. I put more freeon in it but that didn't help. Thanks in advanced

Does it blow hot air out the defroster vents, or out the heat vents? It may be that the hoses, or actuators aren't working to get that heat out the defroster vents.

I'd guess the problem is restricted flow then. Most likely either the cable that direct heat to the vents is out of adjustment, or the door that's inside the heater box is disconnect, broken, etc. and not directing full volume to the vents.
I did see one a friend has where a mouse had built a nest in the vent hoses and plugged up flow to the defroster vents. I'd pull the vents off the box and blow through with an air hose. Then run heater defrost with the hose off and see if there's good flow out the heater box.
Might also check the fan switch to see if it has all three speeds.

If your 80 is vacuum controled like my 78, as much of a pain as it is run down all your vacuum lines for the actuators and make sure they are all in tacked. I had one broken line that caused me a lot of problems.

Heater box is a bit of a booger. It will involve a day's work to pull the box, as you need to pull the inner fenderwell to get to all the bolts and get the outter box off too. If the inner box is wet it could be a rusted out box, or a bad heater core. Either way I'd replace the core while the box is off.
Most likely you'll have to have the box welded up, unless you can find a solid used one.
