i have 79 454,th350 whats my first move?

Default i have 79 454,th350 whats my first move?

i allready have a 454 bored 30 over which is 496 i got the rotating assy. and waitin to build yall think ist good to got with a rebuilt th350 and good torque conv. i have a 454 in it allready with a stock th350 and conv. let me know and ideas...

Pretty good trick getting 42 cubic inches out of .030" overbore.

You'd need a bigger crank with an overbore to reach 496. If that's what you've got, great. If that is what you were told you had, oops!

454 +.030 over = 460

I can only wonder what the engine is, and what may have been done if someone started out telling you that engine is a 496 with .030" bore. Might be time to drop the pan and heads and make sure it's all real before proceeding any farther.
If it really is a stroker 496, then I wouldn't go the TH350 and converter you have. As much as I love the TH350 behind my big block, it's very mild compared to the torque that a 496 can put out, and I doubt the TH350 would last long.

I have a .030 over 454 ,mildly built and have already went thru 2 rebuilt 350 turbos,went to a 400 and never had another problem

either way if you have a big block with anything major done to it, I would just go ahead and throw a th400 behind it!
