Default Buying a Second Gen! selling mine!

Hey guys.
I'm buying a second gen. I have a few questions about a 1979 berlinetta.
The body is great, the interior is perfect! and my major problem is that it has a 305. I have an 86 305 now. Is this going to have less or more power? and what are your thoughts on the 79 305 motors? It has a 4 speed transmission. and would it be worth 8000 dollars? Really the only thing holding me back is that it has a 305!

Wow that car better be perfect inside and out. My son has a 79 Berlinetta with a 350/350 auto that we picked up for $1500. You might want to shop around some, to see what the going price is. His car needed some work but nothing that would justify that price.

8gs? WOW! heck no. NOT 7 or 6 or 5 or 4 or 3.

To answer your question, the 79 305 was a turd. A giant stinking pile. I'm not sure the real hp but the Z was around 185 with the 350. 140-165ish is a good guess.

Unless that car is EXTREMELY low mileage, and looks like new, I can't imagine it getting $8k!

Haha, yeah the 305 is too wimpy to get, I will keep looking. But I actually sold my car, and thanks! But the 79 was in pretty good condition, interior like new; the interior was light blue with white trim it looked pretty interesting. But there was no way I was giving them that amount! haha
Thanks for the help

No reason to get ripped off. The sad thing is the seller probably though it was an $8000 car. Some people think they have gold when really they just have aluminum.

Yea but, I saw one just like it on Barrett Jackson for 28 grand so it must be worth at least 8 grand........blah blah blah. I hate BJA for just that reason. Every one thinks theirs is worth a fortune too. Aluminum/gold, I like that 77nomad.

I'd tell the guy, look i have cash in hand now what is the real price you will take for it.If he really wants to sell and hears you have the money now,he may come back to reality.
