Default Hydroboost brake system

Has anyone installed a hydroboost brake system in a car? Just dropped in a very nice 383 stroker in one of the cars, but it has a big cam and doesnt produce ANY vacuum at idle, plenty at higher revs.It has an SSBC disc brake conversion kit that needs 12-16 ins of vac.

I added a crane cams vaccannister (which gives about 3 hits on the brake during stoplights, and no more vac.)and a SSBC vacuum pump and plumbed itw/ a T connector betw.the carb andcannisterwith the extra outlet going to the pump, since I get more vac from the eng. at higherrpms and more vac from the pump at lower rpms.

The problem is.. the pump wont get past 12 inches of vac when the carb is plumbed in, so it runs all the time and its annoying and noisy. One opinion I got was to add a second cannister, and get rid of the pump, or get rid of the eng line use 2 cannisters and only use the pump.A couple others said go with hydroboost, but Ive heard mixed opinions about it, and its expensive. Thanks.

I would think a check valve will fix your problem. Just install the check between the carb and pump. Many cars had them from factory, an over the countr parts store should be able to get one for you.
