Default How do u replace a Ignition in a 77 camaro?

Im tired of using a screw driver to start my car. Ive got a new switch already just not sure how to install it. Do u just pull the steering wheel and slap it in??

Remove the wheel. Hazard button. Compress the lock plate and remove retainer clip from shaft. Unscrew and remove turn signal arm. Unscrew the turn signal assembly and ease it up off shaft and turn out of your way. The lock will be either held in with a screw or have a tab which locks into the column when inserted. If held in with a screw just remove screw and work the old lock out. If yours is held in with a tab you will have to insert a small thin screwdriver or the like into a small slot to release the lock. Once the old one is out just slide the new one into place and reverse the steps. Job is alot easier with proper tools.
