Default Hood mounted gauges???

I like the look of the hood mounted gauges, and want to get a set for my Camaro. Not getting much luck on the net, who can give me a good place to look?
Do I need to make my own mounting bracket?

I bought mine from Summit. Bought regular gauges, then got chrome water resistant enclosure pods separately. Not sure if they still carry them, as I got mine many years ago. They came with their own mounting base for each pod, and I welded up a bracket with mounts to bolt each base to. Mine was designed to bolt to the cowl, and position the gauge pods above the hood, so they didn't move with the hood, and no holes in the hood either.

What you need to search for is "gauge mounting cups". That will bring up all sorts of brands from Autometer, Equus, Summit, etc. Be prepared for sticker shock! They run around $30-$40 ea.!!!! Back when Summit had their own brand cups, I got mine for about $5 each!

Thanks for the search tip, it worked great. Wow though I can't believe how expensive it is for a chrome or black cup.
I think I'll start with the tach first. Then add to it later. I still have a bit of time the old motor is getting yanked tonight or tomorrow then there's a bit of work left on the new one.

I don't know why they're so silly high? Maybe they don't get enough orders to get them down in price.

Note: If you plan on going to test and tune at an NHRA track, they won't let you run if you have your fuel pressure gauge mounted on the cowl, if you do you have to run an isolater between your fuel line and the gauge, we found that out last friday and we used braided line and a-n fittings. If you use the plastic line, they won't let you run at all.

NHRA will allow it IF your fuel gauge is not mechanical. Fuel pressure gauges with direct lines to the gauge can't be on the firewall, or inside the car, but they can be hood mounted. Never understood how a couple inches difference made them safer. Best to just use the electronic pressure gauges, so there's only wiring going to the cowl or interior.
