corvette magnesium wheels mounted.

I got theses both 17inch fronts and 18 rears magnesium corvette wheels.
The front wheels fit with no problems. The rear 18 inch rims have a lip on the inside of the axle center bore hole and I can't put them on with out a spacer. Then I'll have roll the fender to clear the tire.
So, I decided to use a brake hone to hone out the center bore out to fit
the wheel onto the axle. I measured the stock center bore at 70.5 mm or 2.78 inches using a plastic micrometer and honed the new wheels center bores out to that measurement. Measure, measure, measure and keep measuring because you can only do this once!
Stop & start the hone in the bore only or parts will fly out and hit you in the eyes! The first place flying parts like to go to.

And the rears fit perfectly. No spacers needed!

You should get some nuts with the longer shank extension I measured the wheel hub thickness at 25mm so a 15mm extension will do just fine.

Now the passenger wheel rubs just a little and a 2.5lbs hammer or a 5lbs hammer will work faster, now there's no rubbing in hard turns.
Clean and cover with rattle can undercoating, done!
