Default tire size

I have a 1996 z-28 I am trying to straiten out something the old owner did.it has y2k corvette wheels 245 45 17 on the front and 285 40 18 's on the
Back.I can see were they rubbed.he put weird springs and air shocks on it.my question is will a smaller tire clear with
Stock springs and shocks?I want to figure it out before I try to get it inspected.

where are they rubbing, may have to trim the bump stops, roll the fender wells or take a hammer to adjust some steel.

might have to get the hammer out and make some room. have a look here Wheel & Tire FAQ - General Topics - CamaroZ28.Com Message Board they are 17s but if its the same spot you should be ok. is the car lowered, sounds like maybe.

Thank you I am going to let the air out of the shocks and c if they clear.if so I guess I am gonna order the stock springs and shocks.he said it had cut springs at one point .it looks like he might have actually already hammered out the inner fenders in the back.thanks again

if its on the inside you may be able to add a 1/4 inch spacer and move the tire out. depending on the offset it may be they set to far in. have a look at strano's site Strano Performance Parts - Parts Search he has some nice stuff and if you order from him he will give good advise. may know exactly what is needed.
