HELP!!!! brake conversion on 69 z28

Default HELP!!!! brake conversion on 69 z28

i have a 69 z28 that i drag race in a super pro class. i am in desperate need of a drum to disk conversion and i am on the verge of buying a kit ($700-1200) . i have heard that i could get these parts from a junkyard pretty cheap but i was wondering if anybody here has went through this process. thanks for any help!!

you want them for the front or rear? A true Z/28 came with discs up front.
for the front there are a lot of different cars that will fit

If you are convertering it with a conversion kit, You'll need a booster, master cylinder, and proprtioning valve. The front brakes hold 70% of your stopping power so I would just swap the fronts unless they already are. The rear should be left as drums because you'll have to do extensive tuning of the proportioning valve. The drums are also lighter.
