Yeah! I'd suggest you save your hard earned dollars and buy a Summit exhaust system. I just put one on my '71 that's the 2.5" full exhaust, and it was only $199! It fit perfectly, with only one minor cut to length on a single piece, and it sounds great, flows great, and the car runs great! Very heavy gauge steel tubing that should last almost forever!
It's complete with hangers and mufflers, and less than half what a Flowmaster system will cost you.

I had 2.5" from the headers back to the rear axle before, that just dumped towards the ground. It was a little louder inside the car before, and now it's throatier outside, but quieter inside.
As for performance, I think it's a little better, but since it's still 2.5" I'm not sure. I can tell you that with full length exhaust system it's sure not less performance! I think if you have a system now that's less than 2.5" or not true duals, you'll like the Summit pipes and they should give you more power.
