Got her out yesterday.
The car is streetable. I'm using a Super T-10 for now with 3.42's. Which seem to be about right for mostly street use. I've heard some complain they don't make enough vaccuum for power brakes but there are cures for that. I use a smaller dual diaghram booster (from a trans am) for valve cover clearance and my brakes work fine.
Yeah, and less maintenance/adjustment.
I have run 5 different solid rollers ( 2 Comps, 2 Iskys, 1 Herbert) and have never had to reset the lash. I might be a Lotto ticket candidate, or the stories on constant solid roller maintenance might be urban myth.
I run a solid lifter cam in my '71 and always have people telling me they would never run solids because they hate to constantly adjust lifters. Granted I don't put thousands of miles on my car each year, but I do put a couple thousand each year, and I've adjusted the lifters maybe 3 times in the last 10 years.
I think people exaggerate these lifter adjustment rumors, or they get carried away adjusting for no reason.
