Default Engine Compartment Paint

Im thinking about painting my engine compartment. I know I want semi-gloss black, but Im not sure what kind of paint to use. Should I use engine paint or is regular rustoleum good enough, or should I use something else? thanks

rustoleum should be fine but if you want it to stick you need to sand it down then use primer them the semi gloss and some clear if you want it to stay semi gloss.

We use SEM Rust Shield part# 38101. It is a satin finish black that is very close to factory finish. It can be applied directly to bare steel or over a primer. You can spray the paint just as it is from the can but we reduce it 10% for better flow. Three good wet coats on bare metal gives excellent rust protection over sandblasted frames and under-bodies.
