Looks like a good fit to me. I don't see an issue at the VIN, or did you fix it in this picture?

look at post 36 the pic at the inspection sticker show it off a little clearer. I did not get it any better this time. It is 1/2" from the metal of the dash and you can see the plastic of the dash pad.

Is the edge wavy when it's out of the car, or jut when installed? If it's wavy when it's out you may be able to use a heat gun to warm it and get to lay down closer, then put it in place before it cools and ue the TP rolls to hold it.
I had one cap a friend bought that needed some heat to get it to lay down. I use my heat shrink gun, but a good hair dryer will probably warm it enough to do as well.

there is more drame to come. This how I will address the prob at shows.LOL It helps that NJ puts the insp. sticker right there.
On the right side under the inst panel the cover is a little short.
Both ends have a slight gap.
Left side under the dash fits good.

Sounds like I'm whinning a lot, I'm just trying to inform. My dash looked crappy. It does look much better and most of this stuff I'll be the only one who sees it. I'd give it a 7 out of 10 for looks. A 3 out of 10 for ease of install. Thank god for tilt wheel. And also that I had it all apart. Trying to install together would have made me nuts!

Even with the problems that you have had, and some of the fitmen issues I think the Cap was a better way to go. Looking at you pics even though things are not quit right, they were even worse on the dash replacement that I did. Even more so around the steering colum and gauge cluster.

Even the original factory pads had fitment issues. When I bought mine at 2 yrs. old I remember looking at the fit around the steering column, and along the leading edge towards the winshield and thinking it was a poorly formed part from Chevy. Your's probably looks as good as some originals.
The 2nd Gens were the first Camaros to use a lot of formed plastic in the interior, and I think they were still figuring out the process late in the 2nd gens.
