I have a 74 Camaro, changed motor to a 97 350, Added Vintage air and now my compressor will hit the hood when shut. Was going to add a cowl hood anyway but need to know how much more clearance i will gain. How long and wide is the cowl?

You could always change the mounts for an earlier car .The compressor on those cars were over the drivers side valve cover .If you have a picture it may help us to help you.

 

Do you have the compressor off the 97 or the 74. The clearance the hood adds is just towards the middle and is only full height on the back half of the hood.
