Default clutch linkage

Can anyone tell me the difference between 70-71 and 72-81 clutch pedal assemblies. These two auctions are on ebay and if i can save a buck I will. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1970-...item5ad1006bda

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/72-81...item33572c1f9f

I got the pedals out of the j-yard about ten years ago and have absolutely no recollection if it was an early or late 2nd gen.
Thanks-Damon

Well Until I saw the two ads I didn't know there was a difference? Interesting!

Well poop. I was kind of hoping you were going to chime in with the answer. Anyone? Anyone?

Well i talked with a guy at Tamraz, the company offering the linkage. The tech guy wasn't in today but the dude I did talk to said that the floors were wider on the 70 and 71's. Anyone know about this?

Doesn't sound right, as all the replacement floor pans are listed as 70-74, or 75-81. I thought the change in floor pans was in 1975 because of this.

What you're showing is the clutch linkage, not the pedal assembly. For what it's worth, many moons ago I converted my first 1969 Camaro over to a manual trans. I bought a trans, the whole pedal assembly (clutch and brake), the linkage and all other related stuff from one person. The entire assembly was out of a 70 Camaro, but everything fit and worked fine (except for I had to get the right frame bracket). If there's a difference in components as of 72, I don't know what it is. Looking at applications in the Classic Industries catalog, the bellcrank and the frame bracket are the same for 1970-81 models. Maybe the rod lengths are different between the two, if it attaches to the clutch pedal in a different position?
EDIT: looking at the pictures of the two linkage assemblies, unless it's a positioning difference in the photo, the long rod on the 70-71 has a slight dog-leg, where I don't see one on the 72-81.

I see what your talking about. I asked the question because they offer different pedal assemblies too. The car I got mine out of was stripped down to the shell and I can't remember the year. Good call though. I ordered the linkage for my 78. I'm pretty sure everything will fit. If not Tamraz has a 30 day warrenty. I though all the floor pans were the same exept for the 75 and later having a hump for a converter.
