Default Clearance issues with HEI distributor

I have a 69 that I plan on putting a GM350 crate engine into. The engine comes with a HEI distributor but I have been told that it will hit the firewall. Has anyone else had this problem? Any work arounds? Thanks.

If your car has points in it now you will need to bypass the resistor wire .The Camaro resistor wire is a white braded looking resistance wire in the harness. The easy way is to run a new wire from the fuse block inside, come off the "ign" terminal and run to the coil power terminal. I put h.e.i. in mid 90's, and still regret bashing in fire wall with 5 pound sledge hammer, i'm goin to fix mine and installstock looking electronic distributor. Its your choice.
