lol when i had to reread it like 3 times thinking the samething but realized he was quoting it... ive always unbolted the bottom of the shock (so it can fully expand) and just cut through the piston rod with a cutting wheel

 

I asked my neighbor, but she just looked at me and said, "What's a shock absorber?"

 

LOL BB427, my neighbor works for GM and he'd probably give me a similar answer. It amazes me how many folks work for the automakers and don't know much at all about how they work, my wife included......but I'm educating here slowly but surely!

 

After living with a car nut for nearly 40 years my wife is pretty car saavy. Sometimes she amazes me with what she's learned through osmosis!

 

The same way here, she's been a designer at some level for many years but had no real knowledge of how a car worked other than driving it and putting gas in. Her dad was an engineer for Fisher Body for many years. She just started back after a 5 year lay off and was amazed how much it helped to know what the parts were that she's responsible for. Of course the more I pass on to her the better for the Camaro. She's starting to understand what and why I need new parts!
