Default building an 85 berlinetta

just thought id ask some opinions of what is a good idea and what isnt... ive got an 85 camaro berlinetta. performance parts are 350 bored .030 over, flat top pistons, dart eagle iron heads with 2.05 intake/1.6 exaust valves that are running 57cc chambers, weiand accelerator single plane intake, stock bottom end with clevite bearings, comp 292 magnum cam with .501/.501 duration, crane lifters, pushrods, comp roller tip rockers, topped off with a holley 600cfm electronic choke carb... Ive also got a powerglide with an A1 2500 stall converter but im not really sure which gear set it has in it. im not sure if the powerglide would be the way to go or if i should put the stock 700r4 in. ive got a lincoln locker (yeah i know it was a bad idea to weld it) rear end with 4.10 gearing to go with it. i havent got the engine/tranny in the car yet so im asking if anyone has any opinions on ifi shouldnt run what i got. im in the process of painting it right now. its going to be the dodge viper copperhead orange color. i know i dont need it yet but im installing a 10 point roll cage on friday. id rather have a roll cage and be safe than leave it out and kill myself. i also heard it will help sturdy up my car so i dont have as much frame twisting. any opinions of which way to go on all this would be nice

Sounds like you'll have fun! One way or another, this belongs in the third gen section not second gen. Make sure you put a sturdy rear end in that thing first off... second, a stock 700r4 wont handle the kind of power that thing is going to be putting out, so you're going to have to get a GOOD tranny to deal with it. The powerglide is a good tranny and should be easier to build up to handle it, but if you plan on driving it on the street and gots the $$ then get a good well built 700r4, with 4.10 gears you'll be happy with an overdrive.
