Default might be missing heat shield?

i think my '81 camaro is missing a heat shield because when its hot out or when the engines hot the car has trouble starting but starts good in the cold. does this sound like its missing a heat shield? and how do i replace it?

timing sounds like it is off, seeing as how it only has problems when it is hot.

z28pete, the starter is cranking the engine but it wont start..

73camaroSS, really? that would only affect it when its hot..so the heat shield or lack there of, isn't the cause?

if the timing is off it well start good when cold but will turn really slow when you try to start it after it has warmed up,but as soon as it cools off it starts up just fine,is this what your car does or does it not turn at all when it is warmed up.

do you have the tools you need to check the timing, and to see if you have the heat sheild take your lazy butt out side get under your car and check and see if it is there, but i really think you need to adjust your timing.

well you keep asking about it go see if its there.how long has it been since you got the msd installed, and was the problem there before the msd or after, and did it start after the msd got put in,if so i would go back to the shop that put it in and tell them your problem and ask them nicely if the could adjust it for you.
