Default Brake question

I recently purchased a 1972 Camaro Z/28 RS model and I am trying to figure out my brakes. It has disc brakes front and rear and was told my seller that this was an option for 72 but I cannot find any sites that sell rear calipers and rotors for the rear. Any ideas what I have. they look like OEM equiment

To the best of my knowledge the only second gens that came with rear discs was 1979-1981. The ones on your car is most likely aftermarket.

If you find that is not the case let us know. You also want to be sure the car does not have a Rotor/Drum master cylinder.

Back in the day I put a 79 posi rear with discs and sway bar in my 74 camaro. I had to also swap the master cylinder also. GM parts should be marked with some kind of part number but I doubt original parts would still be there 50 years later.

Rotors can be tracked down based on measurement Most calipers are very easy to rebuild assuming you can find the same dimension seals.

Thanks so much for your reply. You are right. After doing more research I have found that it is indeed an aftermarket disc brake conversion. Problem solved
