Default adjusting brake bias?

86 v8 with 4 wheel disc. i have barely any rear brakes at all. all new pads, rotors, calipers, hoses, etc. is it possible to dial in more rear brake? when i have to slow down a little harder (everyone in eastern pa drives like *** holes), i can hear the front tires squeel a bit. today, i had an *** hole reversing up a blind hill. i get on the brakes a little hard, maybe half pedal, nothing extreme, and it locks the front right up. im going to try bleeding the brakes again, but i want more rear braking strenth

Was it original disc brake in the rear? The only difference is the proportioning valve. Maybe some one swapped it and did not change that. But I know from my expirienc if you don't change it you have very little to no rear brakes.

OHH and which rear brakes do you have? Is it the kind where you have to screw the piston back in when you change pads? Those a kinda ****ty. They need the e brake used to keep them adjusted out and it does not always work that well. I had that kind on my 84 before I put the later BW rear in.

Nicely put MadMike, most likely it was upgraded and the proportioning valve was not changed. Your front brakes will always hit first, at @ 60% front 40% rear if there were drum you could adjust them up but not with disc, check the valve, and the master, does your pedal stay firm? with foot on pedal at an idle in gear? mine actually slowly faded to the floor, so i changed the booster, i only have drum on the rear, but she stops hard, straight, without locking the wheels. Good luck MicroKid.

The old style of disc did adjust but not really well. The piston would ratchet out as you use the hand brake and as the pads wore but it did not work well. Its been so long since I had that type I don't really remeber how to do it manualy. You would pull the arm off and put a washer and nut on in its place to maualy adjust but it was a pain. The style on my BW rear has calipers that slide like front ones do.
Try leaving the hand brake up some and see if it helps the rear brakes. If it does then it just does not stop well because of too much space between the pads and rotor. If that works you could adjust your hand brake. How many clicks does it go up no? Does it point to the sky when pulled on?
