Default Boot lid torsion bars broke. Need to put Strut in the boot

Hi all,

The notorious torsion bar (one of them), just rusted away and broke. I need to put struts on the boot now (have no patience or strength to try putting the torsion bar. I have one new but not sure left or right).

Please advise what struts I can buy (length, pressure, tension, any specific bracket design). I am based in the UK and we do not have access to same type of parts here what US has.

Any advice will be great!

Thanks!

I have the same issue. I have seen that there are aftermarket kits online that convert the trunk lid to a gas strut system (single)
I plan on making my own version of this..
