what would be the gains of putting a blower on a 350? is it worth the price for the extra stress it puts on the motor?

 

45-65% more and it is definately worth it. You should build up the internals first

 

What do you plan on doing with the car street cruise or drag race what type of blower are you looking at? Are you using a stock 350 or do you plan on building a blower engine?

 

If it's the stock engine from a 79 you're gonna have some issues with that idea. They only came with 2 bolt mains. Replace it with a 350 that has 4 bolt mains and you're in business. Or get splay bolts machined in. Either way it's going to be pretty expensive.

 

i have a 350 block. im trying to keep it street legal but with power for the strip. i also have a 454 that i want to rebuild would it be better to make that a blower motor considering the amount of work that would need to be done to the motor mounts and suspension to get it in the car?
