Default Block and Trans ID

I just recently got my hands on a 79 camaro with big block and a Manual trans. I am having trouble decoding the numbers on the block and transmission. On the block above the timing cover I found T0624TSC and on the passenger side deck I found T7F739459. On the Transmission I found a number on the upper passenger side. it reads 46C102258. Im pretty sure the Engine is a 454 out a mid 70's pickup. Not sure though. I have no idea what the transmission is. Can any one tell me what i have to work with. Thanks

Default RE: Block and Trans ID

Look at the rear of the block. Driver side. Just in front of the trans there should be a number there. My big block is 3999289. our should something like that. Then look that number up on mortec.com. In the back of the block on the passenger side there will be somemore numbers. There will be a number that starts with a letter like (A) 17 72.Mine is H17 72. So it would be Aug 17 1972 The letter is the month of the block. (A) would be january. (B) would be februray and so on. The first two number are the day. Last two would be the year. That what i was told anyway. As for the Trans I have no idea. If you fine out Please let me know I have a 468 in my 78 camaro too. With a 400 turbo but I have no idea where the trans came from. One more thing if you look down by the oil filter. There will be stamp in the cassing. It will say Truck or hi perf pass. that will let you know if its a truck block or a car block. If you have anymore question email me back and I will try to help you. I hope this helps. Mike
