hmm thats weird..wouldn't that be sweet if i had 3.08 gears and didnt even know it lol the person i bought it from didn't do anything with it but the previous owner before that, workred on it a little so i dont know all of what my car has still lol

how could i tell if the tach is off?

 

actually my car is doing 2000 rpms at 60 and 2200 at 65

 

if u want to know what gears u have jack up the back of the car, both wheels, and if u have a posi turn the tire one revolution while counting the number of revolutions the drive shaft goes.(block the front wheels and put in neutral) if u have 308s the shaft will turn a little over three times. if u have 373s if will turn 3 and 3/4 times.

 

And if you don't have a posi, then just jack up one rear wheel. If you do both you'll get one turning backward and one forward, and get a irratic reading.

 

shaft doesnt turn. and if u hold turn just one wheel on a open rear end it should turn the shaft half as many times than if u turned both wheels at the same time. thats why the tire smokes so good on an open rear end when only one tire is spinning. its spining twice as fast as it would be spinning than if both sides spin. the spider gears will burn up evenually if u roast the one side alot, thats were the gear up happens. when both tires turn the same the spider gears dont do any spinning the slug works like a limited slip.
