Hmm, so what is the difference between a locker a spool and a posi.

When I said I dont need to go 90 but 55 is to slow, I ment on the highway. It is fine to do 115 at 6500rpm down a track, it is another thing to do it for 30 min down the highway.

Correct, this is a racecar first. I want to keep it street legal but not worried about actual drivabilty.

the rear end is an 8.5

I have the gears, and a stock posi. I was figuring on throughing in the gears and posi to get some traction. I cant then start saving for a (locker?) and axles. But I really wanted the posi in the car now. The really tall gears are embarrassing. I also want a new cam. I would have to wait on the cam if I need a locker now. I really think the stock posi and 4:10 will hold up for a while. I can stay off the track.

As for shocks, it has a set of Monro air shocks in the rear. No idea what is in the front.

Can I get the name of that shop that put your gears in? Although, I really don't want to pull the diff completely out. I hate bleeding breaks.

So, I want on of these? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PWT-1920-LR/

The differences are:
Posi has clutches to keep both wheels moving at the same speed, but will slip slightly if one hits something really slippery.
Locker has gears inside to keep both wheels locked up when going straight, but unlocks when turning to allow the wheel speed differences.
Spool is basically one solid axle from wheel to wheel, with no give in any situation. If you turn a corner the inside tire will hop and try to catch up to the outside tire. If the traction is too great it will either hop, break and axle, or break the spool.

I have a Powertrax locker that has a real smooth release and has been rock solid for 10 years. I had a mechanic install it, but he claimed it was a bone simple install that even I could have done, whatever that means.
Why the cage? You have a long way to go to get to 11.5 where you need a bar at a NHRA track. I think your best gear is a 4.11 and a 26 inch tire.

Thanks, Yes I am going with the Powertrax locker. Ive been reading about it and it installs inside the stock carrier. You don't need to re-shim anything. That's why you can do it yourself.

Cage Reasons
1. My wife wants the cage
2. They look cool
3. Car is a t-top (weak) and the cage will stop all body flex.
4. I want the 5-point harnesses

I never got below 11.9's when I raced mine, but I installed the rollbar just because I felt safer. Left it in after the resto just because I like the look and it's part of the car's history.
