I paid 1800 for the shell and a truck load of parts. I must admit my car is cleaner than most. I can see my reflection in the paint on the bottom of the car and its never seen rust or winter.

Other than that the interior needs a lot of work, needs completely new wiring hardness cuz the previous owner did a very shotty job... Also the exhaust is worthless... What made you sell the 81 to paint the 80 and not visa versa?
At the time of sale i had 5 camaros (2 parts cars, 78 rebuild, 80 almost done and the 81), the 81 was nice but my 80 was nicer lol. i owned my 80 since i was 17 (12 yrs) and i had the 81 for like 1.5-2 yrs. the 80 was always in the family since 1990 (never winter driven, hell never driven since 94 lol), sentimental value i guess plus it was just easier to paint the 80 than rip the motor and rebuild the 81 (it didnt need it but i wanted better than average looking driver). plus i had no more room to store it for the winter cause i just baught an suv for the old lady plus we had our minivan lol. so it was the all #'s matching (even the carb) 78 Z28 had to go, the 80 Z28 ive been building off and on for 12 yrs that was almost done had to go or the 81 driver had to go. So i chose to sell the 81 (i did let her go cheap compared to prices around here but i kept my louvers and rims just needed it gone before the snow) and i got rid of 2 parts cars which were actually saved from being hacked up by me and are now someone elses projects and i sold a couple engines i had. I figured once the 78 is done (prob another 10 yrs lol) i will go for a 70-73 style camaro to completely rebuild.

I have a copy of the factory invoice on mine and it says sport coupe. But mine came with some options. such as rear spoiler, ralley wheels, LH and RH sport mirrors, and a couple of other things , all that were an extra charge by the factory.

As requested, here's a shot of the 229 V6 (probably the most modest engine ever posted on this forum). The previous owner bought it from Capitol City Engines in Richmond, VA in 1998.

I bought a sport coup brand new back in 1977. It also had a few options. AC, 350, mirrors, AM/FM, TH350, no spoiler or gauges. The one thing I liked was the bump shifter. My current 77 doesn't have one but will be replacing the factory shifter with a B&M Megashifter. That 77 sport coup was a really nice car.

bad436z28, are you saying you had a Capitol City engine in your Chevy Monza? If so, it's nice to know they're decent.
