Amen! I think a little goes a long way, especially with a color that stands out like my red, or your purple. Too much and it draws all your attention to that one color.

This is great... My buddy spent 1 hour per valve cover taping the fins and the JEEP logo off. I told him he could have just painted it then removed the paint from the raised surfaces. He said "that would be too much of a PITA." Can't wait to show him this, haha.

Looks great btw.

The chain is insurance in case he brakes his motor mount. Something I should probably add to my to do list.

If you put the right tension on it you can get the best of both worlds. Stiffness of solid mounts and antivibration of rubber. Plus the car rocks like hell when you rev it.

Well the car once had the factory cable that hooked around the left control arm and then attached to the left head. Chevy put them on to keep the engines from ripping motor mounts in half. When I was drag racing I changed to Moroso solid mounts and tossed the cable. Never realised they'd be a collector item someday!
I went back to rubber mounts in 1999 to eliminate the vibration, but after a few years the engine tore them apart. They are safety mounts so it wont move far, but I've got minimum clearance between my air cleaner and the cowl hood, so I added the chain to keep from rocking too far and tearing up my motor mounts or my air cleaner.
