Default Accessing trunk w/out key

Does anyone have a suggestion for removing the trunk lock on a 1979, I do not have the key and it is closed.

Thank you in advance

That depends on the condition of the body. If the car is in nice shape, get a locksmith. If the car is a beater, you can pound the lock in with a hammer and drift, or a ball-peen hammer. The lock and shaft will drop down inside and you'll be able to turn the latch mechanism with a flat blade screwdriver. Getting into a trunk takes only a few seconds. If you're already doing body work on the car, you can hammer out the flange that got mushroomed in from pounding the lock in.
