hmm. well do you want a compleate original restore or restore to your tastes, thats the question. there is so so many ways to "restore" a car. if you were me i would rebuild the original motor, tranny and redo the interior to my tastes. PLEASE if you have to do body work..... DONT USE BONDO. its to easy to get some sheat metal and weld it in, sand, paint. and if its done right no one will be the wiser and it will last you forver.plus if you ever sell the buyer will be very happy that you put quality work into your ride.

i agree, it all depends on what you want. if you're hunting for lots of power, ditch the stock engine and start with a crate or newer model. Right now it doesn't matter, but in a few more years a matching #s proper resto might be worth something, so it's worth considering just an overhaul of the existing engine if you want to keep it original and not too worried about blowing the doors off those stangs wandering the streets. I'm currently working on an LT1 in a 75 LT, check back with me around June and I'll let you know how that worked out... Interior can be pieced together from multiple years for cheap off e-bay if you're not worried about originality, but it takes time to find the good deals
